Knees in the Breeze By Ken

Well here we are nearing the end of May and the weather is finally catching up with the calendar. Nearly every shop I talk with is getting calls from folks needing bikes serviced or repaired. Or for that matter simply needing a new one (I’m pretty sure there are ancient Sanskrit writings that state it is impossible to own too many motorcycles). Just a few weeks ago it wasn’t looking to practical to ride across the passes; now the promise of a sunny event or a good road trip is finally becoming a reality. Washington is a big state with lots of great places to ride to and lots of runs and events to attend.

And speaking of runs and events, remember to list all of your club or organizations runs and events on the website. It’s free and a great way to keep everyone up to date. The deadline for having runs and events listed in the next issue is May 31. If you’re simply looking for what’s coming up, the magazine and website are both resources to find out what’s happening in your corner of western Washington.

We’ve been taking pictures of you as we travel to various runs and events. I’ve had some folks email and ask how they can be in the magazines. That’s easy! Just email your picture as an attachment to ken@wabig.com. Remember the May 31 deadline for the next issue.

Remember, if you’ve put it off now is the time to contact your mechanic to have any customizing, service or repair work done. The best time of the year for riding is beginning and keeping your bike in top condition will not only help you to enjoy the ride and be safe but it may even help on your gas bill! And we could ALL use some help with that!

Ride safe and keep your knees in the breeze. – Ken.
